PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
ANTISEIZE THREAD COMPOUND, HIGH TEMPERATURE
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers three types of antiseize compound for use on threads of steel nuts, studs,
bolts, and other mating surfaces, including those of superheated steam installations, at high temperatures up to
566 °C (1050 °F).
1.2 Classification. The types of antiseize compound covered under this specification are as follows:
a. Type I (Copper/Graphite Formulation)
b. Type II (Graphite/Aluminum Formulation)
c. Type III (Marine Grade Water-Resistant Formulation)
